the shift page allows users to configure and manage production shifts across different plants and equipments shifts are defined per plant and can be visualized and adjusted using calendars and exceptions shift overview when opening the shift page , users can navigate between different shifts configured for their plants plant selection at the top of the page, a drop down list is available select the plant for which shifts should be displayed once a plant is selected, additional configuration fields become visible rosters & shift definition after selecting a plan, the configured rosters for that plant are shown roster details for each roster, the following information is available description > example morning shift, afternoon shift, night shift applicable days > defines on which days of the week the shift applies start time > shift start time end time > shift end time shift duration > automatically calculated based on start and end time shift calendar shifts can also be viewed in a shift calendar , providing a visual overview of planned shifts per roster displays all shifts for the selected plant makes it easier to validate coverage and overlaps equipment shift agenda in the third tab , users can select a specific equipment linked to the selected plan once selected all shifts planned for that equipment are shown in an agenda view shifts are displayed along a timeline editing shifts in the agenda from the agenda view, users can click on a shift to select it resize the shift to shorten or extend its duration adjust start and end times directly in the agenda changes made here are reflected immediately in the shift planning shift exceptions the exceptions page allows users to define periods that should be excluded from normal shift planning use cases examples of exceptions include public holidays company wide holidays planned maintenance periods scheduled downtime configuring an exception to create an exception select the equipment define the start time and end time add a description (optional) select an exception type holiday maintenance other planned downtime (optional) assign a downtime code define the duration exceptions are taken into account when generating calendars within the manufacturing template suite (mbs) and prevent shifts from being planned during those periods
