reason code assignment the reason code assignment application allows you to link a previously created downtime reason tree to an equipment or equipment class in order to be able to link a downtime reason tree to an equipment or equipment class, the 'downtime enabled' slider must be enabled on the equipment or equipment class in the core application assigning a reason tree select the equipment or equipment class choose the appropriate reason tree the full reason tree structure will be displayed below you can then copy the entire reason tree , or select only specific reason codes, siblings, or children (you are not required to copy the entire structure ) short stop configuration when assigning a reason tree, you can define a short stop reason how it works a short stop duration is defined in the settings (e g , 10 seconds) a short stop reason is selected (e g , maintenance and cleaning ) any downtime equal to or below the defined duration will automatically be categorized under the selected short stop reason example short stop duration 10 seconds short stop reason maintenance and cleaning ➡ all downtimes of 10 seconds or less will automatically be classified as maintenance and cleaning additional required configuration before saving, you must define equipment code default expected duration these values will be used later when downtime events are recorded saving & visibility after completing the configuration click save the assigned reason tree and related settings will be visible directly on the equipment the configuration is now active and ready to be used for downtime tracking
