The Equipment module manages all **physical assets on the shop floor** that are relevant for production execution, such as a production line, a production cell or a piece of equipment. Each equipment is linked to a specific location in the hierarchical tree structure.

## Equipment Parameters

Each equipment record can have the following optional parameters:

| Parameter             | Description                                                                      |
| --------------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Barcode**           | Links the equipment to a physical barcode on the shop floor                      |
| **ERP Code**          | Maps the equipment to a record in your ERP system                                |
| **Roster**            | Assigns a shift roster to the equipment, and can be used in the OEE calculations |
| **Downtimes Enabled** | Activates downtime tracking for this equipment                                   |
| **MQTT Topic**        | Connects the equipment to an IoT/MQTT data feed                                  |

These optional fields give you the possibility to link your master data in Mantsu with a physical location or directly with your ERP.

## Equipment Classes

Equipment is organised by **Equipment Classes**, a category template with shared parameter definitions. This promotes consistency and speeds up the onboarding of new assets of the same type.
